The Kingdom of God
"On Earth As It Is In Heaven"
In the time of those kings,
the God of heaven
will set up a kingdom
that will never be destroyed,
nor will it be left
to another people.
It will crush
all those kingdoms
and bring them to an end,
but it will itself
       endure forever.
“Shout and be glad,
O Daughter of Zion.
For I am coming,
and I will live among you,”
declares the LORD.
“Many nations will be joined
with the LORD
in that day
and will become my people.
I will live among you
and you will know
that the LORD Almighty
has sent me to you.”
“There will be a day
when watchmen cry out
on the hills of Ephraim,
‘Come, let us go up to Zion,
to the LORD our God.’ ”
This is what the LORD says:
“Sing with joy for Jacob;
shout for the foremost
of the nations.
Make your praises heard,
and say O LORD,
save your people,
the remnant of Israel.”
This is what
the Sovereign LORD says:
“I will take the Israelites
out of the nations
where they have gone.
I will gather them
from all around
and bring them back
into their own land.
I will make them one nation
in the land,
on the mountains of Israel.
There will be one king
over all of them
and they will never again
be two nations
or be divided
into two kingdoms.”
EZEKIEL 37:21,22
The LORD will roar
from Zion
and thunder from Jerusalem;
the earth and the sky
will tremble.
But the LORD will be a refuge
for his people,
a stronghold for
the people of Israel.
“Then you will know that I,
the LORD your God,
dwell in Zion,
my holy hill.
Jerusalem will be holy;
never again
will foreigners invade her.”
JOEL 3:16,17
All the ends of the earth
will remember
and turn to the LORD,
and all the families
of the nations
will bow down before him,
for dominion belongs
to the LORD
and he rules over the nations.
PSALM 22:27,28
The sons of your oppressors
will come bowing before you;
all who despise you
will bow down at your feet
and will call you
the City of the LORD,
of the Holy One of Israel.
ISAIAH 60:14
At that time
they will call Jerusalem
The Throne of the LORD,
and all nations will gather
in Jerusalem
to honor
the name of the LORD.
No longer will they follow
the stubbornness
of their evil hearts.
Him who overcomes
I will make a pillar
in the temple of my God.
Never again will he leave it.
I will write on him
the name of my God
and the name of the city
of my God,
the New Jerusalem,
which is coming down
out of heaven
from my God;
and I will also write on him
my new name.
But you have come
to Mount Zion,
to the heavenly Jerusalem,
the City of the Living God.
You have come to
thousands upon thousands
of angels in joyful assembly,
to the church of the firstborn,
whose names
are written in heaven.
You have come to God,
the judge of all men,
to the spirits of righteous men
made perfect.
HEBREWS 12:22,23
Then the survivors
from all the nations
that have attacked Jerusalem
will go up year after year
to worship the King,
the LORD Almighty,
and to celebrate
the Feast of Tabernacles.
I know
that my Redeemer lives,
and that in the end
he will stand upon the earth.
And after my skin
has been destroyed,
yet in my flesh
I will see God;
I myself will see him
with my own eyes —
I, and not another.
How my heart
yearns within me!
JOB 19:25-27
But the saints of the Most High
will receive the kingdom
and will possess it forever—
yes, for ever and ever.’
I will bring them out
from the nations
and gather them
from the countries,
and I will bring them
into their own land.
I will pasture them
on the mountains of Israel,
in the ravines
and in all the settlements
in the land.
I will tend them
in a good pasture,
and the
mountain heights of Israel
will be their grazing land.
There they will lie down
in good grazing land,
and there they will feed
in a rich pasture
on the mountains of Israel.
EZEKIEL 34:13,14
Deliverers will go up
on Mount Zion
to govern
the mountains of Esau.
And the kingdom
will be the LORD'S.
“How beautiful
are your tents, O Jacob,
your dwelling places,
O Israel!
Like valleys they spread out,
like gardens beside a river,
like aloes planted
by the LORD,
like cedars
beside the waters.
Water will flow
from their buckets;
their seed will have
abundant water.
Their king
will be greater than Agag;
their kingdom
will be exalted.”
NUMBERS 24:5-7
In days to come
Jacob will take root,
Israel will bud and blossom
and fill all the world
with fruit.
I heard someone
speaking to me
from inside the temple.
He said:
“Son of man,
this is the place of my throne
and the place
for the soles of my feet.
This is where
I will live among the Israelites
EZEKIEL 43:6,7
At that time
gifts will be brought
to the LORD Almighty
from a people
tall and smooth-skinned,
from a people
feared far and wide,
an aggressive nation
of strange speech,
whose land is divided
by rivers —
the gifts will be brought
to Mount Zion,
the place of the Name
of the LORD Almighty.
‘This is what
the Sovereign LORD says:
O my people,
I am going to open your graves
and bring you up from them;
I will bring you back
to the land of Israel.
Then you, my people,
will know that I am the LORD,
when I open your graves
and bring you up from them.
I will put my Spirit in you
and you will live,
and I will settle you
in your own land.
EZEKIEL 37:12-14
Then the sovereignty,
power and greatness
of the kingdoms
under the whole heaven
will be handed over
to the saints,
the people of the Most High.
His kingdom will be
an everlasting kingdom,
and all rulers
will worship and obey him.
After this I looked
and there before me
was a great multitude
that no one could count,
from every nation,
tribe, people and language,
standing before the throne
and in front of the Lamb.
In the last days
the mountain
of the LORD'S temple
will be established
as chief among the mountains;
it will be raised
above the hills,
and peoples will stream to it.
Many nations
will come and say,
“Come, let us go up
to the mountain of the LORD,
to the house of
the God of Jacob.
He will teach us his ways,
so that we may
walk in his paths.”
The law will go out
from Zion,
the word of the LORD
from Jerusalem.
He will judge
between many peoples
and will settle disputes
for strong nations
far and wide.
They will beat their swords
into plowshares
and their spears
into pruning hooks.
Nation will not take up sword
against nation,
nor will they train for war
MICAH 4:1-3
“From one New Moon
to another
and from one Sabbath
to another,
all mankind will come
and bow down before me,”
says the LORD.
“And they will go out
and look upon the dead bodies
of those who
rebelled against me;
their worm will not die,
nor will their fire
be quenched,
and they will be loathsome
to all mankind.”
ISAIAH 66:23,24
In the way of righteousness
there is life;
along that path is
I will place over them
one shepherd,
my servant David,
and he will tend them;
he will tend them
and be their shepherd.
I the LORD will be their God,
and my servant David
will be prince among them.
I the LORD have spoken.
EZEKIEL 34:23,24
But you, O mountains of Israel,
will produce
branches and fruit
for my people Israel,
for they will soon come home.
I am concerned for you
and will look on you
with favor;
you will be plowed and sown,
and I will multiply
the number of people
upon you,
even the whole house of Israel.
The towns will be inhabited
and the ruins rebuilt.
I will increase
the number of men and animals
upon you,
and they will be fruitful
and become numerous.
I will settle people on you
as in the past
and will make you prosper
more than before.
Then you will know
that I am the LORD.
I will cause people,
my people Israel,
to walk upon you.
EZEKIEL 36:8-12
Multitudes who sleep
in the dust of the earth
will awake:
some to everlasting life,
others to shame
and everlasting contempt.
Those who are wise
will shine
like the brightness
of the heavens,
and those who
lead many to righteousness,
like the stars
for ever and ever.
DANIEL 12:2,3
Of the increase
of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign
on David’s throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on
and forever.
The zeal
of the LORD Almighty
will accomplish this.
‘The days are coming,’
declares the LORD,
‘when I will fulfill
the gracious promise
I made to the house of Israel
and to the house of Judah.
In those days and at that time
I will make
a righteous Branch
sprout from David’s line;
he will do
what is just and right
in the land.
In those days
Judah will be saved
and Jerusalem will live
in safety.
This is the name
by which it will be called:
The LORD Our
For this is what
the LORD says:
‘David will never fail
to have a man
to sit on the throne
of the house of Israel’
JEREMIAH 33:14-17
For the Israelites
will live many days
without king or prince,
without sacrifice
or sacred stones,
without ephod or idol.
the Israelites will return
and seek
the LORD their God
and David their king.
They will come trembling
to the LORD
and to his blessings
in the last days.
HOSEA 3:4,5
The LORD will rule over them
in Mount Zion
from that day and forever.
As for you,
O watchtower of the flock,
O stronghold
of the Daughter of Zion,
the former dominion
will be restored to you;
kingship will come
to the Daughter of Jerusalem.
MICAH 4:7,8
“I have installed my King
on Zion, my holy hill.”
I will proclaim
the decree of the LORD:
He said to me,
“You are my Son;
today I have become
your Father.
Ask of me,
and I will make the nations
your inheritance,
the ends of the earth
your possession.
You will rule them
with an iron scepter;
you will dash them to pieces
like pottery.”
PSALM 2:6-9
“I tell you the truth,
at the renewal of all things,
when the Son of Man
sits on his glorious throne,
you who have followed me
will also sit on twelve thrones,
the twelve tribes of Israel.
Then I heard the number
of those who were sealed:
from all the tribes of Israel.
From the tribe of Judah
12,000 were sealed,
from the tribe of Reuben
from the tribe of Gad
from the tribe of Asher
from the tribe of Naphtali
from the tribe of Manasseh
from the tribe of Simeon
from the tribe of Levi
from the tribe of Issachar
from the tribe of Zebulun
from the tribe of Joseph
from the tribe of Benjamin
After this I looked
and there before me
was a great multitude
that no one could count,
from every nation,
tribe, people and language,
standing before the throne
and in front of the Lamb.
They were wearing
white robes
and were holding
palm branches in their hands.
And they cried out
in a loud voice:
“Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb.”
All the angels were standing
around the throne
and around the elders
and the four living creatures.
They fell down on their faces
before the throne
and worshiped God, saying:
“Amen! Praise and glory
and wisdom and thanks
and honor and power
and strength be to our God
for ever and ever. Amen!”
This is what the LORD says:
“I will return to Zion
and dwell in Jerusalem.
Then Jerusalem will be called
the City of Truth,
and the mountain
of the LORD Almighty
will be called
the Holy Mountain.”
