When Enoch had lived 65 years,
he became the father of Methuselah.
And after he became the father of Methuselah,
Enoch walked with God 300 years
and had other sons and daughters.
Altogether, Enoch lived 365 years.
Enoch walked with God;
then he was no more,

The people of Judah and Israel
were as numerous as the sand on the seashore;
they ate, they drank and they were happy.
And Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms
from the River to the land of the Philistines,
as far as the border of Egypt.
These countries brought tribute and were Solomon’s subjects all his life.
1 Kings 4:20-21

Then King Solomon summoned into his presence at Jerusalem
the elders of Israel,
all the heads of the tribes and the chiefs of the Israelite families,
to bring up the ark of the Lord's covenant from Zion, the City of David.
1 Kings 8:1

David praised the Lord
in the presence of the whole assembly, saying,
“Praise be to you, O Lord, God of our father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Yours, O Lord, is
the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.
Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power

“I have installed my King
on Zion, my holy hill.”
I will proclaim the decree of the Lord:
He said to me, “You are my Son;
today I have become your Father.
Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance,
the ends of the earth your possession.
You will rule them with an iron scepter;
you will dash them to pieces like pottery.”
Therefore, you kings, be wise;
be warned, you rulers of the earth.
Serve the Lord with fear
and rejoice with trembling.

Praise awaits you, O God, in Zion;
to you our vows will be fulfilled.
O you who hear prayer,
to you all men will come.

They go from strength to strength,

In that day

The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.

will no longer rely on him who struck them down
but will truly rely on the Lord,
the Holy One of Israel.

In that day the Root of Jesse will stand
as a banner for the peoples;
the nations will rally to him,
and his place of rest will be glorious.

In that day you will say:
“Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name;
make known among the nations what he has done,
and proclaim that his name is exalted.
Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things;
let this be known to all the world.
Shout aloud and sing for joy,
people of Zion,
for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.”
Isaiah 12:4-6

In that day
men will look to their Maker
and turn their eyes to the Holy One of Israel.
Isaiah 17:7

In that day
there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria.
The Assyrians will go to Egypt and the Egyptians to Assyria.
The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship together.
In that day
Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria,
a blessing on the earth.
The Lord Almighty will bless them, saying,
“Blessed be Egypt my people,
Assyria my handiwork,
and Israel my inheritance.”
Isaiah 19:23-25

In that day
the Lord will punish the powers in the heavens above
and the kings on the earth below.
They will be herded together like prisoners bound in a dungeon;
they will be shut up in prison and be punished after many days.
The moon will be abashed, the sun ashamed;
for the Lord Almighty will reign
on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem,
and before its elders, gloriously.
Isaiah 24:21-23

In that day
this song will be sung in the land of Judah:
We have a strong city;
God makes salvation its walls and ramparts.
Open the gates that the righteous nation may enter,
he nation that keeps faith.

In that day
the Lord will thresh from the flowing Euphrates
to the Wadi of Egypt,
and you, O Israelites,
will be gathered up one by one.

In that day
the Lord Almighty will be a glorious crown,
a beautiful wreath for the remnant of his people.
He will be a spirit of justice
to him who sits in judgment,
a source of strength
to those who turn back the battle at the gate.

In that day
the deaf will hear the words of the scroll,
and out of gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind will see.
Once more the humble will rejoice in the Lord;
the needy will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

For in that day
every one of you will reject the idols of silver and gold
your sinful hands have made.
“Assyria will fall by a sword that is not of man;
a sword, not of mortals, will devour them.
They will flee before the sword
and their young men will be put to forced labor.

whose fire is in Zion,
whose furnace is in Jerusalem.

Your eyes will see the king in his beauty
and view a land that stretches afar.

How beautiful on the mountains
are the feet of those who bring good news,
who proclaim peace,
who bring good tidings,
who proclaim salvation,
who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”

“The Redeemer will come to Zion,

declares the Lord.

“From one New Moon to another
and from one Sabbath to another,
all mankind will come and bow down before me,”

“when I will raise up to David a righteous Branch,
a King who will reign wisely
and do what is just and right in the land.
In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety.

Jacob will again have peace and security,

“There will be a day when watchmen cry out
on the hills of Ephraim,
‘Come, let us go up to Zion, to the Lord our God.’ ”

‘O Lord, save your people, the remnant of Israel.’ ”
Jeremiah 31:6-7

“Therefore prophesy and say to them:
This is what the Sovereign Lord says:
‘O my people, I am going to open your graves
and bring you up from them;
I will bring you back to the land of Israel.
Then you, my people, will know that I am the Lord,
when I open your graves and bring you up from them.
I will put my Spirit in you and you will live,
and I will settle you in your own land.
Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken,
and I have done it, declares the Lord.’ ”
Ezekiel 37:12-14

“This is what the Sovereign Lord says:
‘I will take the Israelites out of the nations
where they have gone.

and bring them back into their own land.

They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob,
the land where your fathers lived.
They and their children and their children’s children
will live there forever,
and David my servant will be their prince forever.
I will make a covenant of peace with them;
it will be an everlasting covenant.
I will establish them and increase their numbers,
and I will put my sanctuary among them forever.
My dwelling place will be with them;
I will be their God, and they will be my people.
Then the nations will know
that I the Lord make Israel holy,
when my sanctuary is among them forever.’ ”
Ezekiel 37:21-28

“I will make them one nation in the land,
on the mountains of Israel.
There will be one king over all of them
and they will never again be two nations

“My servant David will be king over them,

While the man was standing beside me,

“In that day
I will restore David’s fallen tent.
I will repair its broken places, restore its ruins,
and build it as it used to be,
so that they may possess the remnant of Edom
and all the nations that bear my name,”
declares the Lord, who will do these things.
“The days are coming,”declares the Lord,
“when the reaper will be overtaken by the plowman
and the planter by the one treading grapes.
New wine will drip from the mountains and flow from all the hills.
I will bring back my exiled people Israel;
they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them.
They will plant vineyards and drink their wine;
they will make gardens and eat their fruit.
I will plant Israel in their own land,
never again to be uprooted
from the land I have given them,”
says the Lord your God.
Amos 9:11-15

“In that day,” declares the Lord,
“I will gather the lame; I will assemble the exiles
and those I have brought to grief.  
I will make the lame a remnant, those driven away a strong nation.
The Lord will rule over them in Mount Zion
rom that day and forever.
As for you, O watchtower of the flock,
O stronghold of the Daughter of Zion,
the former dominion will be restored to you;
kingship will come to the Daughter of Jerusalem.”
Micah 4:6-8

“In that day,” declares the Lord,
“I will destroy your horses from among you
and demolish your chariots.
I will destroy the cities of your land
and tear down all your strongholds.
I will destroy your witchcraft and you will no longer cast spells.
I will destroy your carved images
and your sacred stones from among you;
you will no longer bow down to the work of your hands.
I will uproot from among you your Asherah poles
and demolish your cities.
I will take vengeance in anger and wrath upon the nations
that have not obeyed me.”
Micah 5:10-15

“On that day
you will not be put to shame
for all the wrongs you have done to me,
because I will remove from this city
those who rejoice in their pride.
Never again will you be haughty on my holy hill.
But I will leave within you the meek and humble,
who trust in the name of the Lord.
The remnant of Israel will do no wrong;
they will speak no lies, nor will deceit be found in their mouths.
They will eat and lie down
and no one will make them afraid.”
Zephaniah 3:11-13

Sing, O Daughter of Zion;
shout aloud, O Israel!
Be glad and rejoice with all your heart,
O Daughter of Jerusalem!
The Lord has taken away your punishment,
he has turned back your enemy.
The Lord, the King of Israel, is with you;
never again will you fear any harm.
On that day they will say to Jerusalem,
“Do not fear, O Zion;
do not let your hands hang limp.
The Lord your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,

Zephaniah 3:14-17

For I am coming, and I will live among you,”
declares the Lord.
“Many nations will be joined with the Lord in that day
and will become my people.
I will live among you
and you will know
that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.”

"I will return to Zion and dwell in Jerusalem.
Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth,
and the mountain of the Lord Almighty

and powerful nations
will come to Jerusalem
to seek the Lord Almighty
and to entreat him.”

Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion!
Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem!
See, your king comes to you,

gentle and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
I will take away the chariots from Ephraim

and the battle bow will be broken.

Zechariah 9:9-10

Then the Lord will appear over them;
his arrow will flash like lightning.
The Sovereign Lord will sound the trumpet;
he will march in the storms of the south,
and the Lord Almighty will shield them.
They will destroy and overcome with slingstones.
They will drink and roar as with wine;
they will be full like a bowl used for sprinkling
the corners of the altar.
Zechariah 9:14-15

The Lord their God will save them
on that day
as the flock of his people.
They will sparkle in his land like jewels in a crown.
How attractive and beautiful they will be!
Grain will make the young men thrive,
and new wine the young women.

“On that day,
when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her,
I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations.
All who try to move it will injure themselves.”
Zechariah 12:3

“On that day
I will strike every horse with panic and its rider with madness,”
declares the Lord.
“I will keep a watchful eye over the house of Judah,
but I will blind all the horses of the nations.
Then the leaders of Judah will say in their hearts,
‘The people of Jerusalem are strong,

“On that day
I will make the leaders of Judah like a firepot in a woodpile,
like a flaming torch among sheaves.
They will consume right and left all the surrounding peoples,
but Jerusalem will remain intact in her place.”

“The Lord will save the dwellings of Judah first,
so that the honor of the house of David
and of Jerusalem’s inhabitants
may not be greater than that of Judah.”

On that day
the Lord will shield those who live in Jerusalem,
so that the feeblest among them will be like David,
and the house of David will be like God,
like the Angel of the Lord going before them.

“On that day
I will set out to destroy all the nations
that attack Jerusalem.”

And I will pour out on the house of David
and the inhabitants of Jerusalem
a spirit of grace and supplication.
They will look on me, the one they have pierced,

and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.

a fountain will be opened to the house of David
and the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
to cleanse them from sin and impurity.

“On that day
every prophet will be ashamed of his prophetic vision.
He will not put on a prophet’s garment of hair in order to deceive.
He will say, ‘I am not a prophet. I am a farmer;
the land has been my livelihood since my youth.’ ”

In the whole land,” declares the Lord,
“two-thirds will be struck down and perish;
yet one-third will be left in it.
This third I will bring into the fire;
I will refine them like silver and test them like gold.
They will call on my name and I will answer them;

Zechariah 13:8-9

On that day
his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem,
and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west,
forming a great valley,
with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south.
You will flee by my mountain valley,
for it will extend to Azel.
You will flee as you fled from the earthquake
in the days of Uzziah king of Judah.
Zechariah 14:4-5

Then the Lord my God will come,
and all the holy ones with him.
Zechariah 14:5

The Lord will be king over the whole earth.
On that day there will be one Lord,
and his name the only name.
Zechariah 14:9

But Jerusalem will be raised up and remain in its place,
from the Benjamin Gate to the site of the First Gate, to the Corner Gate,
and from the Tower of Hananel to the royal winepresses.
It will be inhabited; never again will it be destroyed.
Jerusalem will be secure.

Then the survivors
from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem
will go up year after year
to worship the King, the Lord Almighty,
and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.
Zechariah 14:16

If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem
to worship the King, the Lord Almighty,
they will have no rain.
If the Egyptian people do not go up and take part,
they will have no rain.
The Lord will bring on them the plague
he inflicts on the nations
that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.
This will be the punishment of Egypt
and the punishment of all the nations
that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.
Zechariah 14:17-19

Jesus replied, “To be sure, Elijah comes and will restore all things.”

at the renewal of all things,
when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne,

will also sit on twelve thrones,

“They will make war against the Lamb,

Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword
with which to strike down the nations.

He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.
On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying,
“Now the dwelling of God is with men,
and he will live with them.
They will be his people,
and God himself will be with them and be their God.
He will wipe every tear from their eyes.
There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain,
for the old order of things has passed away.”
He who was seated on the throne said,
“I am making everything new!”
Then he said,
“Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the Beginning and the End.
To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost
from the spring of the water of life.”
Revelation 21:3-6

The nations will walk by its light,
and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it.
On no day will its gates ever be shut,
for there will be no night there.
The glory and honor of the nations
will be brought into it.
Revelation 21:24-26

The throne of God and of the Lamb
will be in the city,
and his servants will serve him.
